NEW!! The NOAH III Optics-Controlled Precipitation Gauge
NOAH III is an optics controlled precipitation gauge which uses infrared beam technology to determine the onset of a precipitation event. When the optics "see" the first few drops of precipitation, gauge measurement parameters are reset. This: • permits accurate identification of event onset, and • eliminates false indications of precipitation due to temperature or wind effects. The optics-controlled gauge also measures the weight of the entire collection container. This accounts for any any snow accumulation that may freeze to the container side walls.
